Does history come to a stop when the archivists walk out?

Is service from Library and Archives Canada available during the Public Service Strike that began today.  Maybe.

Library and Archives Canada says certain services may be affected by the strike.

Service points in Ottawa, Vancouver, Winnipeg and Halifax expect to remain open. However, Library and Archives Canada warns there may be disruptions in services, "which may affect your experience."

"It is important to plan ahead if you are visiting us in person."

Most online services to publishers, galleries, libraries, archives, and museums should be functional, with some delays possible.

I don't see specific mention of librarians or archivists on the PSAC strike website, but it is pretty clear that members not specifically exempted are on strike, and the exemptions list is brief.  A 2023 detail: the PSAC specifies that continuing to work from home during the strike constitutes crossing the picket line, .
