History of hurricanes

At Active History, Alan MacEachern has a nicely historical essay about Hurricane Fiona of 2022 and Storm Five of 1923, each of which hit Prince Edward Island hard, and about how each was reported in its time.

They had lost everything, but Mr Macdonald had saved his wife and children, and "That was what mattered," he asserted.

-- From a report of the 1923 storm from St. Peters's PEI, 1 October 1923 -- though it could be from just about any hurricane report.
