More on history gifts

With book promotion and reviewing -- particularly history book reviewing, I sometimes think -- scarce in the general media, I'm struck by how many interesting books, scholarly and trade alike, get published without my noticing.
If you have that feeling, a useful antidote may be Canada's History's Book and Gift Guide for 2018, available in the print magazine and online too. Books particularly: a Sam Steele biography, a suffragette memoir, Reconsidering Confederation, a new court of appeal history, Margaret Laurence letters, RCMP surveillance, a whole book on the steamboat of confederation, queer history in Toronto, a Newfoundlander in the Vietnam War, ... and more. Take a look.
(Notice here now does not preclude more detailed attention later.)
