Nice to see the announcement in the new
Canada's History that the Berton Prize, which is also the Governor General's History Award for Excellence in Popular Media, has been awarded to Saskatoon historian
Bill Waiser, author of the standard Saskatchewan histories (both before provincehood and since provincehood).
It has been reported that Governor General Julie Payette will not present the Governor General's History Awards in person this year, but at least she has already had the opportunity to meet Bill Waiser: he received the Order of Canada from her in 2017.
