Historian and professor Heather Ann Thompson won the (American) Pulitzer Prize for History the other day for
Blood in the Water: The Attica Prison Uprising of 1971 and its Legacy, which combines a study of the horrific jail riot with an analysis of American prison policy and its crimes over several decades.
