Okay, this is a stretch for a history blog. But I'm reaching out here.
Is a Sudoku like this solvable? -- without using guesswork, which I understood was a Sudoku-no-no. I run into this all the time: a difficult Sudoku that ends up perfectly balanced, with no evident clue as to where to fill in correctly any further.
