Giro '16 report 1

Seems the only Canadian network covering the Giro d'Italia 2016 is the French-language RDS, and who subscribes to that? But steephill.tv does the film highlights well, and you can get standings from the Giro's own site.

Day 4 today: hilly racing along the coast way down near the toe of the Italian boot -- first day in Italy after some flat stuff in the Pays-Bas. Our boy Ryder Hesjedal was in contention until his group got wrongfooted 5 km from the finish and came in about 40 seconds behind the leader and a pack of 25 or so.  So he stands 28, a minute and 17 behind, with most of the big general-classification contenders ahead of him.  But looking strong.  Next hills on Thursday.
