Honours watch: Alison Prentice O.C.


Historian Alison Prentice of Victoria, formerly of OISE in Toronto, was on the recent list of appointees to the Order of Canada, honoured  "for her pioneering contributions as a scholar, advancing the field of women’s history and the history of education."  She is the author or co-author of, among others, The School Promoters, The Neglected Majority, Canadian Women: A History, Women Who Taught, Gender and Education in Ontario, and Creating Historical Memory: Eight Canadian Women and the Work of History.
