Maybe just as well today is not a prominent date in Canadian iconography. But the event was significant: the Battle of the Plains of Abraham, September 13, 1759.
What I find myself thinking is: three years will be the 250th anniversary. Wonder how that will play out?
Tell you one thing: I ain't planning to write a book for it. I hate those anniversary train wrecks when twenty books appear at the same time.
Actually C.P Stacey's book, quickly written for the 200th anniversary in 1959, is still pretty good reading -- nicely republished by Donald Graves and Robin Brass Studio a couple of years ago.
