Supreme Historian

"... we find that in the tavern on this site he drank..."
Beverley McLachlin, chief justice of the Supreme Court of Canada  (now the longest serving chief justice of Canada ever, squeaking past Sir William Johnstone Ritchie a few days ago, having served nearly 14 years  -- and still eligible for five more years) will lead a John A. Macdonald-themed walking tour of Kingston, Ontario, next weekend.

Well, she's a smart person, for sure. Why shouldn't she know history too?  But this tour has been led in the past by Don Cherry, among others, so maybe the bar's not too high.
