History... still not dead yet
Grumpy old men of all ages and sexes are going to be left with nothing to say for a while. A new study shows they actually do teach Canadian history in school. Quite well sometimes.
The Historica Foundation -- long famed for the twice-yearly polls of its predecessor, the Dominion Institute, which invariably found no one knew anything about Canadian history and we had to start ramming it down the throats of schoolkids -- has released a new study that actually looked at the evidence. It suggests there is quite a lot of Canadian history in the Ontario curriculum and it's often well designed and well taught.
Take a bow while you can, history teachers. I'm sure someone is still going to be telling you don't exist -- and to get off their lawn.
