Okay, we had lunch with David Mendel (and Yves Beauregard, editor of the Quebec history magazine
Cap-aux-Diamants) in Quebec City the other day, so I'm prejudiced. But David's guide to Quebec really is one of the best conceived historical guidebooks I've ever seen. And this one, on the monuments and buildings and history of old city within the walls, is only the first of
a four-book series.
