Quill and Quire reports that the nominees for the 2014 Basil Stuart-Stubbs Prize for Outstanding Scholarly Book on British Columbia are histblogger Sean Kheraj and the biographers of architect Arthur Erickson and Haida carver Charles Edenshaw:
- Arthur Erickson: An Architect’s Life, David Stouck
- Charles Edenshaw, Robin Kathleen Wright, Daina Augaitis, Robert Davidson, and James Hart
- Inventing Stanley Park: An Environmental History, Sean Kheraj
(Winner in June.) I've always thought British Columbia is the only part of Canada that could properly support someone named Basil Stuart-Stubbs. Wikipedia hasn't got to him, but BC Bookworld did ("In lieu of flowers, he proposed that friends consider buying a book by a Canadian author or making a donation to a library.")
