Prize Watch: Canada's History at the NMA. Historians at the CHA

Canada's History's feature from last summer on the Canada-USSR hockey series of 1972, done by Terry "Aislin" Mosher, Michel Groleau, and Mark Reid, won the Words-and Pictures Award at the National Magazine Awards in Toronto on Friday.  Historicist at Torontoist lost the blog category to the big guns at Macleans.  Complete results here 

At the CHA meetings in Victoria last week, a slew of historical prizes were handed out, including the John A. Macdonald Prize for the best scholarly work in Canadian history, which went to William C.Wicken for The Colonization of Mi’kmaw Memory and History, 1794-1928: The King v.
