Poseur alert: profs resent journalists again
A Salon article headlined "America's Worst Historians" sounds like grist for our mill. But it turns out it's really one of those turf-protection screeds -- two history profs complaining about journalists who write about history and get all the fame and glory that the profs are supposed to be provided with as a perk like tenure or something.
Update: But for scholars doing what they oughta, look at Tom Peace and Christopher Dummitt debating the words historians use when they talk about the past. I have both Active History and Everyday History on my listat left at my other left at right, but this week they are both particularly worth a look
