Prize Watch: The J.A.Mac to Codex Canadiensis

Last week at its AGM, the Canadian Historical Association gave its premier award, the John A. Macdonald Prize for the best work in Canadian history in the past year, to François-Marc Gagnon and his co-authors for their edition of the 17th century illustrated natural history of the New World, the Codex Canadiensis, published by McGill-Queen's University Press.

The complete list of CHA prizes is on its website here.

Mark Reid, editor of Canada's History magazine, who looks forward to each year's CHA AGM "immensely," gives a report on what he saw there this year in his online "Editor's Note."
