Today in History: Charlottetown conference, 1864

Noting the, ah, 146th anniversary of the Charlottetown conference on confederation (and maritime union, but they decided to postpone that one), The Canadian Encyclopedia Online offers James Marsh's nice little essay on the importance of the conference.
