Not an Onion headline

The City of Brantford has decided to completely demolish all 41 buildings with the help of Federal stimulus money.
Brantford, Ontario, plans to demolish a neighbourhood's worth buildings in its downtown, possibly the largest surviving assemblage of Confederation-era architecture. Intended beneficiary: the local campus of Wilfrid Laurier University. And profs who decry this vandalism get hauled in for questioning by the bosses.
