In the acknowledgments to Pierre Berton's railroad books The National Dream and The Last Spike, Berton gave credit to his researcher Norman Kelly. (Mr. Norman Kelly in one, Norman Kelly MA in the other).

Whatever became of that guy, Norman Kelly MA?That guy turns out to be the longtime Toronto city councillor and deputy mayor now assuming most of the mayoral responsibilities that council has removed from the troubled incumbent, the one with the crack issues and the potty mouth.
