The arrival of the admen in Canadian politics

Political journalist Susan Delacourt, now in the Post, apparently, offers a nice history of when advertising guys began to replace politicos in Canadian politics.  Would you have said 1952?

Update, October 9:  Shoulda known, shoulda mentioned.  Delacourt has a new book out on the subject of politics as marketing, and Everyday History has been reading it.
