Young Citizens -- students' online film festival

200 students take up cameras. They make their own documentaries on whatever aspect of Canadian history catches their interest.

Ezra' s doing the Titanic. Adele a choisi le Stampede de Calgary.  Gina's film is on the work of the Presentation Sisters in Newfoundland.  Alenna's covering the Komagata Maru story, and Jack chose the history of the Canadian penny.

Then they post the films at youngcitizens.ca.  Anyone viewing the kids' projects can vote on them -- and the winners get prizes.  Whole thing wraps up in August.  More info here.

Seems like school projects were not like this in my day!
