This week in history....

Are these dog-days for history blogging?  Students are all writing papers and exams, profs are marking same, publishing season is at a low ebb, historic tourism season hasn't cranked up yet. And Cliopatria is still defunct (and mourned here at least).

Even Parks Canada's This Week in History feature, running online since 1998, is reduced to finding an anniversary of something so inconsequential as the adjournment of Parliament in 1893, and then recovers by hanging a nice little bio of PM John Thompson from that (though they should spellcheck their reference to John A. MacDonald"). If you need some historical browsing, the full archives of PC's "This Week in History," by keyword or listing, is available here.
