CBC's Integrity ... Gutted Like a Fish Again

I wouldn't see relevance for this blog in the CBC's apology for its publication of a Heather Mallick column on Sarah Palin -- except it fits the pattern of spinelessness that we have seen with the CBC's historical programming. They folded up on The Valour and the Horror the moment it seemed unpopular; they folded up on Prairie Giant the moment it attracted some criticism.

How can anyone hope to do serious, potentially controversial work at the CBC when they know the masters will only back them until they become ... controversial? Publish it or don't publish it; but don't publish and repudiate it too.
